The Rev. Fr. J.J. Bernal
The Reverend J. J. Bernal and his wife Rosario have three grown children, Anaflor, Jose Juan, and Samantha Jazmin. He has served in Parishes in the Diocese of California, Diocese of Dallas, Diocese of Rio Grande, and Diocese of Western Kansas. He was ordained as a priest Diocese of California. Reverend JJ studied and graduated from GTU and CDSP in Berkeley, California.
He has had extensive experience in the workings of the church and in building relationships within the community. He has been a member of The Commission of Ministry in every Dioceses he has served, past memberships include Cursillo Secretariat, Canon Latino/Hispanic Ministry, Canon for Multicultural Ministries, and has also developed programs with the Migrant Ministries in El Paso-Ciudad Juarez, Mexico.
To relax, Fr. JJ is an avid music lover and enjoys listening to and playing acoustic music. His musical skills include playing the guitar, and ukulele, singing, and percussion. Traveling and exploring has always fascinated Father JJ and he has shared that fascination with his family, especially his children. Lastly, Father JJ enjoys spending quality time with his beautiful wife, Rosario, and having long meaningful conversations with his children.
Today, he is happy to extend the Kingdom of Jesus in the Episcopal Diocese of Arizona. He looks forward to meeting and building his community in Arizona.

Ms. Jacquie Phagan has been a member of St. Stephen’s Church since she was 25 years old. Having worked for 27 years at Cochise College in the Accounting Department, she brings a wealth of experience in the private sector and the church as the Church Administrator and Treasurer.

Sra. Elsa Hernández
With years of experience in the private sector, Elsa serves as the director and manager of custodial services and as the director of hospitality. Her talents and careful attention to detail keep our congregational buildings in a brilliant condition that is inviting and provides a clean and safe space for our congregants and our ministries.
